Flexible LED Video Walls: Flexible LED Applications Are Expanding Into Outdoor Architecture

At ISE 2026, INFiLED showcased new products including the InfiPix mk2, Black Widow AMT and GeminiLED, whilst also demonstrating the ONE-4-ALL solution-which supports flat, curved and right-angled configurations-as well as products such as the MC Cube for creative structures. Notably, flat, curved and right-angled structures can be combined within a single display system, demonstrating that the application of LED displays is no longer confined to standard rectangular panels. This shift is particularly significant for stage productions, exhibitions, commercial spaces and creative architecture.

Similarly, at InfoComm 2026, the application of flexible LED technology was further illustrated through more clearly defined structural scenarios. In the bendable dvLED solution showcased by Daktronics at the exhibition, flexible LEDs were used directly to wrap around columns. This product utilizes a flexible PCB and rubber structure, enabling it to conform to both concave and convex surfaces.

Meanwhile, in the new product range unveiled by INFiLED at InfoComm Asia 2026, curved, angled, staggered layouts and landscape structures were highlighted as application directions for the NX series.

These exhibition developments collectively reflect a shift: flexible and deformable structures are gradually evolving from "creative effects" into practical installation requirements that LED display systems must address. MileStrong continues to focus on the application of flexible LED in commercial spaces, architectural structures and creative display projects, providing display solutions for various curved surfaces and non-standard structures through flexible LED products and bespoke technical support.

Whilst the curved, corner and creative structures showcased at the exhibitions primarily demonstrate the application of flexible LED in indoor and event settings, some recent products have begun to explicitly target outdoor use. For example, DOIT VISION's currently announced flexible LED product range covers both indoor and outdoor scenarios, with pixel pitches ranging from P0.9 to P4, and lists concave video walls, cylindrical column wraps and free-form architectural installations as application scenarios. According to publicly available information, the outdoor version achieves a maximum brightness of 6,500 nits, with some configurations supporting a minimum cylindrical diameter of 764 mm. This indicates that flexible LED screens are evolving beyond traditional indoor curved displays to encompass irregular outdoor architectural structures and creative displays.

For cylindrical and curved walls, as well as other non-standard architectural structures, displays are no longer simply mounted on a flat surface but must be designed to conform to the architectures own form.

Judging by recent product launches and trade fair developments, the focus of flexible LED technology is shifting. In the early stages of the market, the primary concern was: "Can LED screens be bent?" Now, however, the key question for projects is becoming: "Can LED screens adapt to specific architectural and spatial structures?" This is also where the distinction between flexible LED and traditional curved LED is gradually emerging. Traditional curved LED displays can form a curved display surface by adjusting the angle of rigid cabinets, whilst flexible LED displays can conform more directly to columns, continuous curved surfaces and other non-standard surfaces through the use of bendable modules.

Of course, this does not mean that flexible LED will replace traditional outdoor LED displays.

From the curved, angled and creative structures that have been appearing repeatedly at ISE and InfoComm 2026, to the flexible LED products that have now clearly established themselves in outdoor applications, it is evident that the scope of flexible LED applications is expanding. In the future, the focus of competition in the flexible LED sector may no longer be solely on "how small the bending radius can be", but rather on how to simultaneously meet individualized requirements.
