LED displays have a wide range of applications and come in many different types, but people are often confused by technical terms when making a selection. Standard products? Custom products? This article demystifies the "jargon" of the LED display industry-specifically, "standard products."
What Are Standard LED Displays?
Standard LED displays, are referred to in the industry as "off-the-shelf standard cabinet displays" or "mass-produced standard models." These products have shapes and specifications predetermined by the manufacturer; they are available in stock and can be mass-produced without the need for custom tooling.
Evaluation Criteria
To determine whether a product is a standard LED product, consider the following points:
- Fixed enclosure dimensions;
- Standardized hardware specifications;
- Fixed exterior shape;
- Uniform structural assembly;
- In stock, fast delivery;
If it meets all these criteria, then it's a standard LED product!
Advantages
- Low Price: Mass production reduces mold and R&D costs.
- Fast Delivery: The manufacturer maintains inventory, so orders can be shipped immediately upon placement, resulting in shorter lead times.
- Easy Maintenance: The enclosures and modules are standardized, spare parts are readily available, and replacement costs are low.
